Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance

OBS is currently pursuing a place in the National Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance. Thanks to Wendy for getting us started on the process. She was working on getting OBS included in the charitable organizations associated with the Chevron Houston Marathon, and the BBB requirement was part of the requirements. The paperwork in this process is extensive, and one of the first steps is to register as a charity soliciting donations in every US state from which we receive funds. The other requirements to gain admission are things we already do as an organization – being forthright, honest, accountable, and all of the other things we know our donors expect from us as a charitable organization. But all of this must be documented and presented to the National BBB in their format. We’ll keep everyone up-to-date with our progress on the application!
