Current Project Statuses: - Shoe Project: Full distribution to all of the orphanages has been completed (photos to come)
- Bumbo Project: Full distribution to all of the orphanages has been completed (photos to come)
- Nova Borova Winter Coat Project: Full distribution to the orphanage has been completed. The director was notified, and is ecstatic – promises to send photo feedback.
- Bye Bye Buggy 6 Seater Project: Still funding the shipping for this one, and Tammy is working on getting this large stroller to Boston for shipment on to Ukraine. A HUGE thank you to Tammy!
- Nova Borova Commercial Dryer: Still funding
NOTE: Vika contacted the director this week and they determined that the best usage of the $4,500 for this project would be to purchase a moderately sized washer and dryer, instead of one large commercial dryer. They have NO dryer, and their washer is 50 years old … unbelievable. - Svalyava Playground in the name of Sandra Huff Strickland: Is being installed THIS MONDAY, MAY 4TH!!!!! Vika will be there to document the installation. Thank you Vika!
- Kremenchuk Playground in the name of Zinaida Grynewytsch: Is being installed May 19th!!!!! Orphan’s Promise from the Christian Broadcast Network contributed $4,500 towards this playground, and will be on hand to document the project in video and still photos.
New Projects: - Shoes were obtained from Buckner Shoes for Orphan Souls for the Nikolayev Baby Orphanage. Arianne has these in Dallas and will be shipping them out this week! A HUGE thank you to Arianne and her husband!
- Green Forest Internat has 10 new students coming into the program. We had a grant pending which would cover 8 of these students and made it to the State level. We did not win at the National level unfortunately. HUGE thank you to Amanda who made us aware of this Ernst & Young competition, and was the driving force behind making us a contender! Natalie and Bea are working on sponsorship of these 10 children.
- Green Forest Internat has a large scale water project which needs to be completed. Pascal will travel to Ukraine to scope it out later in the year. We’ll determine at that time what it is feasible to do to assist.
- Svalyava started refurbishment of an isolation/quarantine ward for the tiniest children in their care. $1,275 is needed to complete the repairs as the government has not been able to provide any funds to them.
